Cranberries and sweet potatoes scream Christmas and here’s how you can use your festive ingredients to create an exfoliating mask which will leave your skin feeling clear, smooth and fresh. Cranberries have anti-inflammatory properties which can help reduce acne. Sweet potatoes are a great source of vitamin A which helps with collagen production and anti-ageing. Simply boil one cup of sweet potatoes, two teaspoons of pureed cranberries, one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of brown sugar. Mix until blended completely, apply on face, leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing off with warm water and pat dry.

An apple and cinnamon face mask is another simple facial treatment to try out this season! Apple has skin benefits of brightening and hydrating skin whilst cinnamon has antibacterial properties and adds moisture. Note that cinnamon may not be suitable for people with sensitive skin. To make this mask add ¼ cup of pureed apple, ¼ cup of cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of yogurt. Combine the ingredients to make a mixture and apply generously to the face for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, pat dry and apply moisturiser.

Honey masks are extremely refreshing and hydrating to the skin! Honey is full of antibacterial properties which can help as acne treatment and helps with improving complexion. All this mask involves is adding one teaspoon of honey and applying it to the face for about 30 minutes. Wash the honey off thoroughly and pat dry.
